Guided Tour - Inside Madrid’s Legendary "Las Ventas"

Bull fighting is a centries-old tradition that since 1947 has been part of the Fiestas de San Isidro, Madrid's biggest annual celebration honoring the city's patron saint. So in celebration of San Isidro, ACM is organizing this special guided tour experience:

This personalized tour is designed to uncover one of the deepest and most controversial pillars of Spanish culture: La Plaza Monumental de Las Ventas. This will be a journey through the history and and hidden corners of the most iconic and prestigious bullring in the world.

We'll look into the architecture of the building and more deeply delve into the life and rituals of the matador, the passion of the "afición," and the internal mechanics of the event. We will break down the structure of the lidia (the fight), its tercios (stages), and the reason behind every occurrence within the arena.

The tour is conducted from an impartial perspective, strictly focused on the technical and artistic analysis of this millenary tradition.

Tour Highlights

• Meet at the Las Ventas entrance at 11am sharp to begin
• A brief introductions of participants 
• Introduction to the link between the San Isidro Fair and the evolution of bullfighting.
• Immersion into the artistic and technical aspects of the corrida.
• Discover the most significant areas of the Monumental, including the Puerta Grande (Great Gate), the Chapel, the Arena (Ruedo), the Stables, and more.
•  View original "Suits of Lights" belonging to legendary bullfighting dynasties that have shaped the history of this art
• 360º virtual experience placing you at the heart of the arena
• The tour will conclude around 1pm and the group will head to a nearby cafe or bar for a little refreshment
